Shimmy playlist #18: 2010 Halloween (vol 1) – Witches Without Brooms
2010/10/272010 Halloween playlist. Lots of Misfits. Some of the Sonics, Sabbath, and the Smiths. The original version of “Lake of Fire” by the Meat Puppets. Also, the original version of “Dead Souls” by Joy Division (so much better than the watery disco depression of NIN). I amazingly found a couple songs from actual witch doctors circa 1975 in east Africa. Wolf Parade and TV On The Radio add a couple songs from the most recent decade to counteract the contributions from early country (Hank Williams) and Chicago blues (Otis Spann). It’s long.
